Cost Management/Financial Accountant

Together with our partner, an electronic manufacturing company in Pretoria East, we are looking for a skilled Cost Management/Financial Accountant. The main focus will be on ensuring accurate costing and efficient work in progress. The ideal candidate should have over 3 years of costing experience in a manufacturing or technical setting, along with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting Sciences, BCom Accounting, or BCompt.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the production order process, including Material and Labour costing
  • Oversee Work in Progress Management, involving transaction tracking through ERP system, physical movement, and stock verification
  • Supervise perpetual stock count procedures
  • Conduct comparisons between quoted cost and actual cost / GP margins
  • Handle the management of Finished Goods Contingency warehouse
  • Review final project costing
  • Act as a liaison between finance and operations, aiding in processes and query resolution
  • Identify and propose cost-effective solutions
  • Participate in various ad-hoc projects as assigned
  • Assist in statutory calculations and submissions
  • Experience with SAGE 300 payroll system and involvement in monthly reconciliations
  • Conclude monthly reconciliations
  • Engage with internal and external auditors, providing necessary information and addressing queries
  • Handle various ad-hoc functions and submissions

Skills and Competencies:

  • Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles
  • Proficiency in computer literacy, especially MS Excel
  • Effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Capability to multitask and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong integrity and the capacity to handle sensitive information
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (Experience with SAP B1 advantageous)
  • Strong communication abilities
  • High ethical standards
  • Attention to detail

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Accounting Sciences, BCom Accounting, or BCompt
  • Minimum of 3 years of costing experience
  • Experience with SAP Business One or other manufacturing ERPs
  • Advantageous to have completed SAICA article or training with a recognized governing body

Salary: R CTC per annum
