Our projects cover various areas in Southern Africa, including rooftop, carport, ground mount, and mobile solar projects. Additionally, we offer operations and maintenance, asset management, metering, and monitoring services through our different divisions.

To support our growth and expertise in battery energy storage solutions (BESS) and maintain our leadership as a C&I IPP, we are looking for an experienced and dynamic Solar PV Ground Mount Quality Controller to join our team.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

As a Solar Ground Mount Quality Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring top-notch quality and safety in the installation and maintenance of ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. Your role involves supervising the construction process, conducting inspections, and implementing quality control measures to meet industry standards and project requirements. This position is vital for upholding the efficiency, reliability, and durability of solar PV installations while adhering to environmental and safety guidelines.

As a Solar PV Ground Mount Quality Controller, you play a crucial role in the successful execution of ground-mounted solar PV projects, emphasizing quality, safety, and compliance. Your expertise and commitment contribute significantly to the advancement of renewable energy initiatives and the transition towards a sustainable future.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • An electrical qualification is advantageous.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills to identify and resolve quality issues effectively.
  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and protocols relevant to construction sites and electrical installations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
  • Capability to develop a comprehensive quality pack, including necessary deliverables for project approval.
  • Experience in managing a team of quality controllers on large-scale ground mount or carport projects.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • 3 years of demonstrated experience in construction and management of Ground Mount and Solar Carport installations exceeding 3MW, involving
    • Site layout planning
    • Verification of built levels
    • Civil works encompassing rebar fixing and installation
    • Mechanical installation with structure alignment
    • Module and DC installation
    • AC Installation
  • Preferably 2 years of quality control experience in ground mount or Carport installations exceeding 3MW.
  • Solid knowledge of solar PV technology, installation practices, and industry standards such as NEC, IEEE, NABCEP.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Quality Control Oversight:

  • Perform thorough inspections of ground-mounted solar PV systems at different stages, including pre-construction, construction, and post-construction phases.
  • Ensure adherence to engineering drawings, specifications, and regulatory standards.
  • Identify and address any discrepancies or non-compliance issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain precise records of inspection results, test findings, and quality control activities.
  • Produce detailed reports outlining the status of solar PV installations, highlighting deviations from standards or specifications.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to relevant stakeholders, including project managers, supervisors, and clients.

Safety Compliance:

  • Coordinate with safety officers and site supervisors to address safety issues promptly.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Engage in quality enhancement initiatives to improve installation processes' efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Stay informed about industry developments, technological advancements, and regulatory updates related to solar PV installations.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for process refinement and optimization to enhance overall quality and performance.
