The Product Manager is a pivotal PayU leadership role, offering a unique opportunity to take part in shaping and driving PayU's offering.

You will play a key role in implementing our long-term strategy, product roadmap, feature set, and market success for our solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACTIVITIES:

  • Own the product vision and roadmap in partnership with other Product leads
  • Deeply understand our customer's needs and challenges
  • Explore and analyse the competition globally to build product strategy
  • Create epics and user stories for new products and enhancements to existing products
  • Approve the product readiness prior to launch (UAT)
  • Document and communicate newly released features to stakeholders and provide training where required
  • Align and communicate with internal stakeholders, partners, and providers
  • Work closely with teams spread across different geographies, including development, operations, commercial, compliance etc
  • Coordinate product releases with marketing, sales, operations, and development team
  • Gather feedback from customers, partners, and stakeholders
  • Understand the African payment market
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and players
  • Mentor and guide product team members

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferably in IT or Commerce)
  • 8+ years' experience working as a Product Manager
  • Payments/Banking/Financial Services experience preferred
  • Experience working with Development teams using agile methodology
  • Experience within web, online and ecommerce/payments systems preferred
  • Exposure into the Africa landscape preferred
  • Experience owning priorities and managing the product roadmap
  • Experience leading product lifecycle from ideation through technical development and launch
  • Experience coordinating product releases with marketing, sales, operations, and development team

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Superb articulation and communication capabilities
  • 8+ years of product management experience
  • Customerfacing experience a must
  • Experience in a Technology Company
  • Experience working with large complex processes
  • Experience in fintech an advantage
  • Fluent in English we are a global company... so it's a must

Tech skills: tech/development understanding, familiar with product development lifecycle, experience working in scrum/agile development environments
