Essential Job Requirements for a Cross Border Heavy-Duty Commercial Truck Driver:

  • Must have a valid code 14 driver's license and PRDP.
  • Must have a valid ID and Passport.
  • Must be in possession of a valid Dangerous Goods certificate.
  • Must have 5 years of experience in Cross Border and be familiar with border control & procedures.
  • Must have 5 years of experience in driving Heavy Duty Commercial Truck, in a combination of Truck Tractor Trailers.
  • Numeracy and Literacy.
  • Must be able to travel unaccompanied throughout the SADC and nonSADC region.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours.
  • Individuals must submit to yearly medical checks.
  • Individuals must submit to and pass random drug screening.
  • Drivers must be able to maneuver Truck Tractor-Trailers into loading or unloading positions, following signals from others and working as part of the team.
  • Experience in coupling and uncoupling of trailers, connecting, or disconnecting air, electrical lines, ABS and manipulating fifthwheel locks.
  • Must be physically able to properly secure loads for transport using chains, binders, straps, etc, with the ability to climb ladders to inspect loads.
  • Tolerant and courteous on the road.

From R14,457.00 per month
