The
Senior Production Manager in a Battery Assembly OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and optimizing the production operations of the battery assembly line.

This role involves managing a team, coordinating manufacturing processes, ensuring quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to meet production targets and customer requirements.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Management: Lead and supervise the battery assembly production team, ensuring efficient and smooth operations. Develop and implement production plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies to meet production targets while maintaining highquality standards and minimizing costs.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously review and optimize the battery assembly processes, identifying areas for improvement in terms of productivity, efficiency, and quality. Implement lean manufacturing principles and best practices to streamline operations, reduce waste, and enhance overall production performance.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the quality control team to establish and maintain robust quality control procedures and standards. Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and certifications, such as ISO standards, and drive initiatives to improve product quality and reliability.
  • Supply Chain Coordination: Work closely with the procurement and logistics teams to manage the supply chain effectively. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials, components, and equipment required for battery assembly. Monitor inventory levels and implement inventory management strategies to minimize production disruptions.
  • Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the production team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Set clear performance objectives, provide regular feedback, and support the professional development of team members. Encourage a culture of safety, quality consciousness, and continuous improvement.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track production performance, such as yield, cycle time, and efficiency. Analyse production data and generate reports to assess performance against targets, identify trends, and recommend actions for improvement to senior management.
  • Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the production department. Encourage employees to suggest and implement process enhancements, technology upgrades, and automation solutions that increase productivity, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience (typically 8+ years) in a production management role, preferably in battery assembly or related manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of battery assembly processes, including cell manufacturing, cell stacking, module assembly, and pack assembly, or related field.
  • Sound understanding of lean manufacturing principles, process optimization methodologies, and quality management systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively.
  • Excellent problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities, with a focus on datadriven analysis.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and standards, such as ISO 9001 and ISO 1400
  • Proficient in using production management software and tools for data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams, suppliers, and customers.
