The main purpose of the electrician is to install, maintain, and repair solar power systems.

You will work with a team to ensure that solar panels are installed and wired correctly, and that the electrical components of the system are functioning safely and efficiently while complying with local and national electrical codes and regulations.


Key Responsibilities:


Ensure that Residential and Commercial PV Solar Systems (Grid Tied, Hybrid, Off Grid) are safely installed, meeting quality and regulator standards.

This includes, but is not limited to

  • Installation of Solar Panels
  • Installation of Roof Mounting/Brackets and Ground Mounts
  • Installation of Combiner Boxes/Junction Boxes
  • Installation of Inverters
  • Installation Of Backup Batteries/Battery packs
  • Connecting all components that exist in the design of the PV Solar System.
  • Installation of all wiring components.
  • Creating an Electrical Sub Distribution Board, and shifting of circuits from Main DB to Sub DB.
Quality Checks through all phases of the installation.

Report timeous, accurate and relevant information to Line Manger.

Ensure up to date record keeping and accurate documentation of work in progress and completed jobs.

Conduct fault finding and ensure that any irregularities are resolved.

Issue Electrical COC on completion of the installation, where all required standards are met

Qualifications and Experience:

Grade 12/N4 certificate in Electrical installations or equivalent (Trade Tested Electrician)

  • Wireman's License
  • Qualified to issue COC's.
  • Registration Certificate with the Electrical Contracting Board of South Africa (E.C.B)
  • ESETA letter proving your completion of the unit standards and their certification.
  • Valid driver's license
  • 35 years of experience in electrical installations.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong technical skills.
  • Systems orientated.
  • Good communication skills in Afrikaans and English.
  • Be organised, accurate and thorough.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • High sense of responsibility. Ability to take ownership of assigned work.
  • Ability to function well under pressure and to manage own time and outputs.
  • Be able to multitask, prioritize and deadline driven.
  • Computer literate

Salary:
R25, R30,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Cape Town,

Western Cape:
Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
