The Stock Controller at Head Office will be required to oversee and manage the day to day operations (receiving and despatching) at The Royal Portfolio's new Distribution Centre in Cape Town's Southern Suburbs.

In addition, they will be responsible for managing all physical stock, as well as ensuring that all records are accurate and up to date.

All of this is to ensure that our properties can live up to the purpose of the company which is "to give our guests a complete experience and a perfect stay.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Stock Control:

  • Coordinating stock control operations with warehouse staff, as well as with the finance departments, and the hotel properties
  • Analyzing supply chain data to ensure the uninterrupted availability of stock.
  • Work with the finance and purchasing departments to place and receive orders to replenish stocks as needed.
  • Tracking shipments and coordinating internal stock transfers, as well as resolving delays.
  • Overseeing stock storage processes, including tagging, boxing, and labeling.
  • Maintaining a steady flow of stock from storage to where it is needed.
  • Performing regular inventory audits and counts

Warehouse Management:

  • Overseeing receiving, warehousing and distribution operations.
  • Implementing operational policies and procedures.
  • Overseeing security operations.
  • Ensuring effective and safe use of warehouse equipment.
  • Ensuring the safety of staff.
  • Maintaining documentation and keeping accurate records of warehouse activities.
  • Assisting with deliveries where required.
REQUIREMENTS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPECTATIONS

  • Tertiary qualification (retail, supply chain, accounting, etc.) would be an advantage
  • At least three years experience in a Warehouse environment
  • Strong communication, both verbal and written in English
  • Exceptionally high integrity and confidentiality
  • Excellent attention to detail, works in a logical, orderly manner
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team
  • Relationship driven
  • Ability to negotiate with and influence suppliers to ensure deadlines are adhered to
  • Self motivated, driven and able to work under pressure
  • Valid driver's license is essential, own vehicle preferable
South African citizenship is advantageous. A valid work permit is essential if you are not in possession of a South African ID document.
