We are seeking a skilled and experienced SAS Programmer to join our dynamic team in Cape Town.

As a SAS Programmer, you will play a crucial role in the stats programming team, contributing to the planning and execution of programming activities for various studies.

Your responsibilities will include the development and maintenance of SAS programs to generate comprehensive TFLs.

You will also be responsible for conducting quality control reviews of SDTM, ADaMs, and TFLs to ensure data accuracy and compliance with standards.

In addition, you will collaborate with various stakeholders to support the production of XML/PDFs, Analysis Results Metadata (ARM), aCRFs, and Reviewers Guides.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the stats programming team to plan and execute programming activities for clinical trials.
  • Review SAPs, utelising programming experience to create complex TFL shells for imaging/ oncology studies.
  • Develop and maintain SAS programs to generate complete TFLs from raw data
  • Perform quality control reviews on outsourced SDTM and ADaM datasets
  • Review the development of complex specifications for SDTMs and ADaM datasets, and contribute to the establishment of company and client standards.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for improving the efficiency, quality, and productivity of statistical programming.
  • Collaborate with data managers, clinical programmers, statisticians, medical coders, and external data vendors.
  • Utilize experience with Pinnacle 21 to validate SDTM datasets.
  • Review created SDRGs and SDTM define as required.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Life Science, Medical Informatics, or equivalent professional experience in statistical programming for drug development.
  • Proven experience as a statistical programmer, working on complex studies in the pharmaceutical/CRO industry.
  • Excellent knowledge of base SAS, SAS macros, SAS/STAT, and expertise in debugging SAS programs.
  • Strong understanding of building, mapping, annotating, QC'ing, and the flow of SDTM data and ADaM, including , Reviewer's Guide, and submission standards.
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written, is essential.
  • Attention to detail, problemsolving skills, and good time management abilities.
  • Demonstrated experience with good documentation practices.
  • Responsible, highly motivated team player with excellent communication skills, capable of collaborating within a team and interacting confidently with site staff and sponsors.
