- chip national manufacturer has an opportunity at their fmcg facility in Epping, Cape Town for an Operations Manager.

In order to be considered for this role the following requirements needs to be met:

  • Implement and supervise the company manufacturing process.
  • Plan work activities and set team goals through the management structure.
  • Ensure correct head count planning per machine per shift.
  • Ensure all resources i.e., raw materials etc. are in place to meet production schedule.
  • Allocate job assignments as to scheduling, resource availability, cycle time and customer requirements.
  • Supervise and assist where appropriate with setting and changing of factory machinery to meet production and quality requirements.
  • Supervise workflow with team members to ensure maximum productivity and to minimise downtime.
  • Review process specifications and make appropriate adjustments as necessary.
  • Ensure that production output for the shift is achieved as planned within the shortest possible lead time.
  • Ensure that production data is accurately recorded on shift i.e. production output, sample testing, waste, downtime as well as ensuring that consumption recons are completed.
  • Wastage is kept to a minimum and disposed of in line with standard operating procedures.
  • Assist with ensuring that machinery is maintained and repaired with minimum disruption to production schedule.
  • Proactively identify potential machine problems to minimize breakdowns and implement preventative maintenance measures.
  • Supervise work force to produce company products through clear communication with Production Supervisors.
  • Assist in writing and amending of Standard Operating Procedures in line with the ISO 9001 standards.
  • Supervise the implementation of Quality Assurance requirements.
  • BTech Production/Operations Management / Industrial Engineering required.
  • Minimum 5 years in a Production or FMCG environment in a similar position.
