About the Strategic Finance team:


The Strategic Finance function at Yoco combines strategic thinking with financial expertise to analyse data, formulate long-term plans, and offer strategic guidance in line with the organisation's objectives.

We evaluate opportunities and optimise using resources to drive growth, profitability, and sustainable success, integrating strategic considerations into financial decision-making.


About the Strategic Finance Associate role:
As a Strategic Finance Associate, you'll be at the forefront of shaping Yoco's long-term trajectory.

In this role, you will leverage your strategic thinking, data analysis, and business partnering skills and play a pivotal role in driving key business initiatives.

You will be responsible for analysing financial data, performing market research, assisting in developing financial models, conducting scenario analyses, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives.


What you will be doing:

  • Build, update, and maintain sophisticated financial models to capture complex business dynamics and improve how we look at our business to support strategic decisionmaking.
  • Drive evaluation of key business initiatives, including new products, pricing & revenue management, strategic partnerships, and new market entry
  • Interpret key financial and operational performance indicators, growth trends, and competitive positioning (incl. benchmarking) and drive insights for leaders across the organisation.
  • Work crossfunctionally with Product & Technology teams, Commercial, and Operations to work on pricing, unit economics, and ROI analyses.
  • Maintain financial reporting and forecasting tools in conjunction with the data team.
  • Build strong relationships at different levels of the organisation by proactively reaching out to learn about concerns, priorities, and how we can better support them.
  • Prepare materials for Business Leaders, the Executive team, and the Board of Directors.

About you:

  • You have exceptional data analytics (Excel, Tableau, SQL, and similar) and financial modelling skills with an aptitude for keeping it simple
  • You have strong communication skills; you're able to both crunch numbers and synthesise and communicate meaningful insights from these analyses
  • You have a solid understanding of corporate finance and accounting
  • You have at least 2 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, management consulting, transaction services or strategic finance / corporate finance / FP&A at a highgrowth startup
  • You have demonstrated ability to roll up your sleeves and get handson, working within multiple teams
  • You are passionate, humble, and a strong desire to enable shared success
