Our client in the UK, is an independent investment research firm specializing in the tech/media sectors (TMT) is currently looking for a Sales assistant/Client Research Analyst from Cape Town. They serve the top tech investors in the world and cover around 120 public stocks globally, competing with the top investment banks. With offices in London, Boston, Hong Kong and more recently Cape Town, they are growing their analyst team (initially in the semiconductor tech sector) to support covering analysts. JOB DESCRIPTION: JUNIOR RESEARCH ANALYST

They are looking for a Sales assistant/Client Research Analyst, who can demonstrate analytical thinking, with a healthy interest in financial markets. They have a long history in developing young talent. While getting up to speed on the industry, the various technologies areas we monitor, strategic positioning of companies within our research, we will help you understand how the markets work and the role salespeople play in our firm. They expect their assistants to learn their internal systems, understand the sales workflow, strategies, and product. As a sales assistant, you will be supporting the US sales team, currently consisting of 5 salespeople a day-to-day basis – helping utilize their Client Relationship System, data entry in 3rd party tacking platforms, and assisting the in compliance clerical work. They operate as a team which rewards team performance – they are a flat organization structure where self-starters can thrive. This is a good opportunity to learn more about the financial markets and the players within those markets.

They regularly interact with some of the largest money managers and hedge funds. Their senior sales members are some of the most experienced in the business, carving out an independent research client base while competing against the top investment banks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Client Relationship Management System daily upkeep.
  • Supporting sales with various project work.
  • Assisting in Analyst Road shows and scheduling.
  • Third Party tracking platforms data entry.
  • Assisting Chief Compliance officer.

PREFERRED BACKGROUND AND SKILLS

The firm is looking for a candidate with college degree that can demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills – i.e. strong analytical skills and can multitask. They look to hire candidates with a genuine interest in the technology sector. This will be a role supporting sales in the United States and is Cape Town based where hours will be flexible. If you are a disciplined individual with a strong work ethic and good communication skills, we want to hear from you.

  • High-class degree in Economics, Finance, Investments, or another relevant field.
  • Graduate level to 2 years' experience.
  • Excellent MS office excel, outlook and word ability.
  • Excellent English writing skills

Based: Working from home but must be based in Cape Town currently.

Salary: R40 000 to R47 000 per month based on experience.

Starting date: As soon as possible.
