Aquatic Ecologist Specialist

This is an exciting role within a well established Environmental consulting company that requires a dynamic, organised and detail-oriented Aquatic Ecologist to provide ecological interpretation of the functionality of aquatic ecosystems and related services to Clients.

• Participate in survey design, proposal scoping and costing.
• Be part of business development and marketing activities.
• Execute field work according to accepted EcoClassification Methodologies (incl. MIRAI and FRAI), as well as other international bestpractice standards.
• Conduct aquatic biomonitoring studies and support the baseline aquatic biodiversity assessments to inform impact assessments, management and/or monitoring plans.
• Working close collaboration with specialists from other disciplines.
• Network and grow strong relationships with Clients and other partners in the market.
• Compile and write reports for submission to the Client and necessary authorities.

• Matric with a BSc Hons / MSc degree in Aquatic Health or similar.
• 2 + years in a similar role within a consultancy.
• Professional Registration with SACNASP or other professional body.
• SASS5 accredited
• Good foundational knowledge of aquatic ecology.
• Basic understanding and practical experience with environmental legislation and National Water Act.
• Great report writing skills and ability describe the issues and propose solutions.
• Strong interpersonal skills (build rapport, trustworthy, reliable, etc.).
• Superior organisation skills, excellent communication skills, and good time management skills.
• Valid Driver's License
