Company Description
This is an exciting role within a well established Environmental consulting company that requires a dynamic, organised and detail-oriented Aquatic Ecologist to provide ecological interpretation of the functionality of aquatic ecosystems and related services to Clients.
- Participate in survey design, proposal scoping and costing.
- Be part of business development and marketing activities.
- Execute field work according to accepted EcoClassification Methodologies (incl. MIRAI and FRAI), as well as other international best-practice standards.
- Conduct aquatic biomonitoring studies and support the baseline aquatic biodiversity assessments to inform impact assessments, management and/or monitoring plans.
- Working close collaboration with specialists from other disciplines.
- Network and grow strong relationships with Clients and other partners in the market.
- Compile and write reports for submission to the Client and necessary authorities.
**Qualifications**:
- Matric with a BSc Hons / MSc degree in Aquatic Health or similar.
- 2 + years in a similar role within a consultancy.
- Professional Registration with SACNASP or other professional body.
- SASS5 accredited
- Good foundational knowledge of aquatic ecology.
- Basic understanding and practical experience with environmental legislation and National Water Act.
- Great report writing skills and ability describe the issues and propose solutions.
- Strong interpersonal skills (build rapport, trustworthy, reliable, etc.).
- Superior organisation skills, excellent communication skills, and good time management skills.
- Valid Driver’s License
