Procurement Specialist

What this position is about - Purpose


The incumbent will be responsible for the strategic procurement of all General Services, IT, and Travel related spending for SEA Cluster (South Africa, Angola, and DRC) vendors, ensuring optimal price and required quality.

The incumbent will be responsible for the management of the categories that are allocated to them, coordinating the preparation of the purchases, and Supplier Relationship Management, in accordance with Agreements, Contracts, Local RFQs, and all necessary reports.

Contributes to the development of assigned categories and implements the right procurement strategy in close collaboration with business partners within their own cluster.

Secures the supply of goods and services required by the organization to the specified quality, service, and cost criteria through the implementation of harmonized and consistent sourcing strategies.

Critical success factors encompass the implementation of global categories and corporate compliance within the cluster. A business partnership mindset is a must.

Achievement of KPIs relating to Negotiated savings, Free Cash Flow improvement, Sustainability objectives, Enhancing Procurement operations, and providing excellent support to the business.


What will you do - Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for procurement, purchasing & timely delivery of materials and services in line with the requirements of the SEA Market (South Africa, Angola, and DRC).Takes responsibility for the management of the allocated categories. Ensures all effective tools are utilized for a complete procurement process and proper documentation relating to the process is filed and maintained. All tasks are done in line with the relevant policies and procedures
  • Resolves issues related to vendor performance in the delivery of goods and services. Supports the Payment Team in procurementrelated concerns on payments, closing documents, etc.
  • Regularly maintains purchasingrelated analytical reports. Supports the decisionmaking process of their supervisor and internal customers
  • Manages existing supplier base in his/her respective area. Maintain effective communication with vendors. Regularly assesses supplier performance and communicates it to internal customers and assessed vendors to constantly improve the customerbuyervendor relationship and vendor performance
  • Monitor compliance with corporate procurement policies, code of conduct, operating guidelines, local regulations, and visibility for corporate audit as well as JSOX requirements
  • Support their supervisor and category managers in ad hoc procurement activities in accordance with the sourcing plan (such as Identification of requirements, conducting supplier bidding and negotiation processes, as well as agreeing on commercial conditions by utilizing his/her negotiation skills) to ensure the best combination of quality, cost, and service parameters/conditions for products and services are attained
  • Being a team and assuming responsibilities for additional projects, and tasks as assigned by their supervisor and showing professionalism in all aspects of work

Whom are we looking for - Requirements:

  • Diploma equivalent
  • 35 years of purchasing/procurement experience
  • Category Management
  • Strong system utilization and analysis techniques for Purchasing activities.
  • MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint), E-Procurement Systems, Reporting
  • SAP will be an asset
  • Customer Service, good negotiation, and relationshipbuilding skills
