Supervisor (Opencast)

We are looking for a qualified candidate to join our team as a Load & Haul Supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 with emphasis on Mathematics and Physical Science
• Must hold a Competent A Certificate

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years involved in Opencast Mining Operations
• Prior experience as a Load & Haul Supervisor is advantageous
• Valid South African Driver's license
• Ability to work overtime and shifts when needed
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Basic computer literacy
• Required possession or obtainability of a Certificate of Fitness

Job Description:

• Responsibilities include, but are not restricted to:
• Ensure compliance with legal standards for Safe and Profitable Production
• Submission of daily machine checklists
• Enforcement of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage among all employees in the area of supervision
• Upholding discipline by consistently applying prescribed standards and procedures
• Assess, supervise, and provide ongoing feedback on the performance, efficiency, and targets of labor, equipment, and standards
• Cultivate strong relationships with fellow supervisors and operational stakeholders
• Manage disciplinary actions with fairness concerning Industrial Relations
• Coordinate with the Pit Supervisor on daily, weekly, and monthly progress plans and employee allocations
• Collaborate with other Supervisors to preemptively identify and address potential issues that may affect multiple sections
• Oversee Load and Haul operations to spot and address any potential problems or risks promptly
