Job Summary


In this role you will be managing and building out key Trade and Working Capital products or SA and Africa Regional Operations (ARO) within the given product portfolio.

It will have accountabilities for all the existing allocated products, including sub-products, country specific domestic product propositions, as well as designing and implementing both the tactical and long-term strategic end-to-end product lifecycle roadmaps per product.

The role will be responsible for the management of the P&L for all the allocated products and sub-products in the portfolio and the commercial review thereof during the life span of the individual products.


Job Description:

Your key accountabilities in this role will include;

Strategy and Planning:

  • Market analysis to determine product / market share opportunities and niches for Trade and Working Capital product.
  • Remain abreast of competitor offerings through investigating other offerings and understanding how our current products align / compare to this.
  • Contribute to and execute on the Trade and Working Capital strategy across Pan Africa.
  • Contribute to the service model for the product set across the various service providers including but not limited to Channels, Operations, IT, Sales, and Client Onboarding.

Business Change:

  • Portfolio management: Contribute to the planning and management of ongoing product investment and activity in line with defined portfolio balance required. Include capacity and capacity planning and development.
  • Stakeholder management: Identify key stakeholders per product. Ensure clear understanding of their expectations and appropriately manage these together with the agreed objectives.

Product Performance:

  • Responsible for managing, monitoring, and driving product essentials

Product Development and Management:

  • Pipeline: Build a product improvement and innovation pipeline for prioritisation and build an initial view of the requirements, underlying commercial value and potential.
  • Understand the Product systems and process landscape endtoend by ensuring that the current product landscape and architecture is mapped out and deeply understood from a product origination point through fulfilment, processing, billing, servicing, revenue realisation and reporting

Deal and Sales Support:

  • Accompany Sales colleagues on client visits/calls where appropriate
  • Provide deal structuring support to sales origination

Stakeholder Management:

  • Responsibility for service monitoring from product providers and monitor client experience with particular emphasis on Trade and Working Capital products.

Risk and Control:

  • Ensure that all members of the product value chain understand processes, control requirements and risk management frameworks that have been designed for the area.
  • For audit findings that have an impact on the area, identify, sign off and ensure implementation required actions.
