Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough research on the South African commercial property market, analysing industry trends, identifying key players, and highlighting emerging opportunities. Provide regular updates and reports to support informed property decisions.
  • Assist in the analysis of financial statements, property valuations, and cash flow models to evaluate potential investment opportunities. Collaborate with team members to assess risk and return profiles.
  • Support the team in preparing financial models, presentations, and proposals for potential financing and investment opportunities, including loan origination, refinancing, or deal structuring.
  • Aid in the preparation of legal and financial documentation required for property finance transactions, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory and internal policies.
  • Participate in due diligence processes for potential property acquisitions, conducting property inspections, environmental assessments, and other relevant investigations.
  • Interact with clients, both internal and external, to gather information, address inquiries, and provide support as needed. Foster strong relationships with clients to facilitate business development.
  • Collaborate with risk management teams to assess and mitigate risks associated with commercial property finance transactions.
  • Assist in preparing regular reports and updates for senior management, offering insights into the performance of the commercial property finance portfolio.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices in commercial property finance. Attend training sessions and participate in team meetings to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Support the team with valuation inspections and preparation of valuation reports, contributing to comprehensive property evaluations.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree programme in property studies, finance, economics, or a related field.
  • Valid drivers licence not negotiable.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with financial data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Selfmotivated and eager to learn about commercial property finance.
