Purpose of the job:

To lead and supervise the milling maintenance team responsible for asset care through preventative and corrective maintenance on site according to Premier quality and safety standards.

(The Premier way).

Responsibilities:

-
To ensure optimal plant asset management through:

  • Execute the asset care plan as per schedule and plans
  • Ensure corrective and preventative maintenance performed as needed, both scheduled and unscheduled
  • Ensuring up to date asset registers in collaboration with relevant managers
  • Support performance management of suppliers by escalating issues to the manager or performing adhoc inspections.
  • Ensuring cost effective inventory management of supplies and equipment

Ensure high performance culture in the maintenance team by:

  • building and motivating capability through competency-based selection
- training and development, coaching, mentoring, performance management
- effective communications
- leading and participating in Invocoms and meetings as needed
- ensuring good discipline and accountability
- establishing good working relationships with union representatives
- ensuring a conducive and safe working environment according to the Premier way.

To ensure full statutory and regulatory compliance to all health and safety and food safety requirements by:

  • Training on SOP's by ensuring training of relevant personnel
  • On job observation and coaching
  • Inspections and reports on quality of work
  • Participate in Audits e. Ensure implementation of agreed corrective actions

To ensure continuous improvement of the maintenance process and function through:

  • Culture of learning and continuous improvement in the Invocom
  • Performing route cause analysis and problem solving
  • Implementing/ executing CI ideas with relevant stakeholders
  • Participating in CIP projects as needed
  • To complete training and development and stand in for the Maintenance manager as needed to build capacity in the succession pipeline for this role.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Qualified Artisan
  • LSS Yellow Belt

Experience Requirements:

  • 35 years Artisan experience
  • 34 years Foreman experience Desirable

  • Relocate to / or Reside in the Vaal Triangle (Meyerton, Vereeniging, Vanderbijlpark, Sasolburg)
