Muratie Farm Kitchen, the estate restaurant, has a vacancy for an experienced, well-presented and energetic individual to manage and oversee the entire restaurant operation and events.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must demonstrate a positive attitude and professional demeanor.
  • Requires communication and interpersonal skills and commitment to a high level of guest satisfaction.
  • Be knowledgeable of all food and beverage offerings including ingredients, methods of preparation, and proper service; be able to explain all food and beverage items listed on the menu.
  • Energetic, accountable, and team oriented.
  • Liaise with customers and prospective customers
  • Administer reservations
  • Hire, train, schedule and supervise restaurant staff
  • Comply with relevant legislation and best practices including hygiene and health and safety regulations
  • Take stock of restaurant inventory and equipment
  • Manage stock orders
  • Manage point of sale system
  • Manage budgets, control costs, assess and improve profitability
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cash ups and reports
  • Plan and coordinate all hospitality events

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Tertiary qualification in Food and Beverage Management / Hospitality Management will be advantageous
  • 35 years restaurant management
  • Events management experience would be advantageous
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Afrikaans
  • Professional demeanor
  • Prior exposure to restaurant management software

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Stellenbosch,

Western Cape:
Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

  • Restaurant management: 3 years (preferred)

Language:

  • English & Afrikaans (preferred)
