Job Advert Summary:

This role reports to Head of Technical Marketing. Conduct market research, develop marketing collateral and influence product design and enhancements.

To Initiate and manage product and value proposition research to ensure sustainability and future growth of business. The maintenance of expert knowledge on product, legislation and competitive landscape.

This role reports to Head of Technical Marketing.

Minimum Requirements:

Qualification:

  • Matric (Grade 12) / NQF L4 (Matric Equivalent).
  • NQF 7 Relevant Business Degree (e.g. Actuarial, Commerce, Economics, etc).
  • CFP or other postgraduate studies will be advantageous.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Minimum 7 years marketing, product/technical marketing or sales experience.
  • Insurance knowledge and experience essential.
  • Research and Analytics experience advantageous.
  • Exceptionally detail oriented and ability to anticipate gaps/roadblocks.
  • Ability to wok autonomously and in a group.
  • Good networking skills.
  • Good presentation skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Research:

  • Initiate and manage product and value proposition research to ensure sustainability and future growth of business.
  • Survey and gather data the competitor environment and produce indepth product comparisons.
  • Explore best practices around the world.
  • Gather marketing intelligence from sales staff and Intermediaries.
  • Synthesise all internal and external stakeholder inputs and analysis outputs to elaborate and influence product and process design and enhancements.
  • Produce market insights reports.

Technical Marketing:

  • Maintenance of expert knowledge on product, legislation and competitive landscape.
  • Thorough understanding of product structure, features and benefits and ability to identify key differentiators.
  • Produce objective industry analysis and market insights that will contribute to product enhancements and identify new opportunities.
  • Communicate product features, benefits and how they translate into meeting member and customer needs on all platforms.
  • Develop compelling content and sales toolkits, e.g. product presentations, scripts, videos, articles, content for social media & web pages and training materials to explain product features, differentiators and value proposition. Provide feedback to marketing materials related to product, providing insight into possible reactions
  • Collaborate with the distribution teams, contributing to presentations, sales collateral, tools, and fostering robust intermediary relationships.
  • Have a deep understanding of PPS systems and products and they are interlinked.
  • Develop gotomarket strategy/plan for product launches and prepare relevant material and related activities.
  • Coordinating stakeholder analysis to understand needs, attitudes and behaviours of distribution the various distribution channels; marketing and communications, to develop positioning and messaging of products and value proposition.
  • Sales enablement ensure the distribution channels clearly understand and are able to articulate product positioning and differentiators and deliver tools that support sales.
  • Work closely with project team and all stakeholders to ensure timeous project delivery.
