ENGIE is a substantial shareholder of entities building, owning and operating power stations in South Africa, including Aurora Wind Power (Pty) (RF) Ltd, Xina Solar One (Pty) (RF) Ltd, Kathu Solar Park (Pty) (RF) Ltd, Avon Peaking Power (Pty) (RF) Ltd and Dedisa Peaking Power (Pty) (RF) Ltd (the "Project Companies").

ENGIE, in its capacity as shareholder, provides support, including legal assistance, to such entities during the projects' operational phase.

The Job Holder will be appointed as an ENGIE Southern Africa (Pty)

Ltd employee and will be based at the following registered address
:
Building 1 Country Club Estate, 21 Woodlands Drive, Woodmead, 2191 Johannesburg - South Africa.


3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Office HSE Management program
  • HSE inspections
  • Covid19 program
  • HSE administration functions
  • Develop Environmental program
  • Earth Reporting, collection of information (ENGIE specific)
  • Ways of Working reporting, collection of information (ENGIE specific)
  • Environmental program structuring
  • Specific tasks to be assigned by Head of HSE:
  • HSE reporting & HSE trends and analysis
  • HSE administration
  • HSE presentations
  • Interaction with Project Companies and Operations entities
Exposure to Operational Plant and Construction HSE Risk management

  • HSE Management systems and tools
  • Construction HSE management.

4. COMMUNICATION AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Internal:

  • Head of HSE.
  • Office manager.
  • Contractors
  • Interaction with Office personnel including First Aiders, Fire and evacuation wardens.
  • Engagement with ENGIE operational entities (under guidance of Head of HSE).

External:

  • HSE service providers (under guidance of Head of HSE).
  • Local authorities (under guidance of Head of HSE).
  • Interaction with Project Companies and Operations entities
  • Exposure to Operational Plant and Construction HSE Risk management
  • HSE Management systems and tools
  • Construction HSE management.

5. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Education

  • National Diploma in Environmental Management / Safety Management or Environmental Health or
  • Relevant qualification in Environment, Risk management and other recognized qualification may be considered
  • Consideration will be given to final year study towards formal qualification.

Language

  • English

Experience

  • Unemployed or looking to gain experience in the field; and/or
  • Require assistance towards professional registration with SACPCMP following completion of qualification.

Specific Knowledge / skills

  • Computer literacy: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • No specific work experience required.
