Our client is a large national pioneering manufacturer and supplier of packaging.

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Electrical Technician will be responsible for maintaining the plant equipment and facilities in optimum operating condition.


THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
In order to be shortlisted for this role, you have the following skills and experience, but not limited to:

  • Matric is essential with an Electrical Engineering Diploma or N
  • Computer literacy is essential.
  • Own vehicle is essential.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The role responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications.
  • Installing power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment by following electrical code and blueprints, using hand tools and voltage tester.
  • Coordinate and direct production workflow; ensure quality standards, production efficiencies and timely completion of work orders are met.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems related to production and quality issues.
  • Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors and lighting fixtures, using test equipment and replacing damaged or broken wires and cables using handtools.
  • Tests malfunctioning machinery and using test equipment.
  • Replaces faulty electrical components of machine, such as relays, switches and motors, and positions sensing devices, using hand tools.
  • Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components such as printed circuit boards.
  • Must diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment when required.
