We are looking for a qualified Senior IT
Technician that will join a multi-cultural company that is in the retail sector who will be responsible for technical support to maintain the organizations computer systems, both hardware and software and other peripheral equipment to ensure optimal performance so that end users can maintain a high level of productivity.


Responsibilities

  • Assist with the assessment, development, implementation, and support of hardware and network technology for new and existing locations and other remote locations, including setting up of computer systems, projectors, network, and internet access
  • Assist with the trouble shooting and implementation of Software and hardware
  • Diagnose and provide support on end user issues, including repairing, servicing, examining, installing, training, and troubleshooting computer hardware and other peripherals.
  • Provide support to help end users access network resources from work and home.
  • Work with staff to coordinate routine hardware maintenance, upgrades of software.
  • Assist in maintaining the IT asset register of all IT equipment in the company
When executing hardware upgrades and when Disposing of old IT equipment

  • Procurement process of hardware and software
  • Installation and setup of server operating systems
  • Implementing Microsoft Active Directory
  • Installing and setting up of Virtual machines (VM-Hyper V)
  • Installing and setting up of VPN clients
  • Understanding of firewalls, Mikrotik routers and managed switches
  • Installing and setting up of MSSQL/ SQL and reporting
  • Installation of Office 365,pastel and Endpoint antivirus
  • Understand and document the A5 Group Holdings IT hardware environment and its topology
  • Responsible for the daily and longterm strategic management of software (OS and thirdparty software) and technologyrelated hardware within the organisation. This includes planning, monitoring, and recording software license and/or hardware assets and/or warranty support data, to ensure compliance with vendor contract
  • Monitor and test server performance and provide server performance statistics and reports
  • Liaise with thirdparty support and PC equipment vendors support teams

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as IT Technician or relevant position
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication ability
  • Organizational and timemanagement skills
  • In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
  • Advanced knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering will be advantageous
  • A+ and N+ Certification, required
  • Driver's License

Salary:
R10, R12,500.00 per month

  • Durban, KwaZulu-Natal: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

  • Proven IT Technician: 2 years (required)

License/Certification:

  • Drivers License (required)
