Junior Quantity Surveyor Position at a Growing Construction Company

Our client is seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their team and work collaboratively with various divisions within the company. This role is perfect for a recent graduate looking to kickstart their career in Quantity Surveying.

Key Requirements and Qualifications

  • BSc Quantity Surveying Degree
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Estimating Roads and Building Projects
  • Proficient in MS Office (Advanced level)
  • Experience with Construction Computer Software (CCS) is a must
  • Previous experience in Contracting QS or Estimating in the infrastructure sector is advantageous
  • Strong understanding of Construction QS role
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team
  • Valid Driver's License and own transport required
  • Location: Bloemfontein with frequent travel to construction sites
  • Knowledge of various construction estimating trades such as Roads, Bulk earthworks, Infrastructure, Telecommunications, and Building works preferred

Roles and Skills

  • Assist the Senior QS in Estimating, compiling, and coordinating tenders
  • Ensure compliance with full tender specifications
  • Adherence to group policies and procedures
  • Execute administration functions accurately
  • Support with Cost Control by managing project budgets
  • Prepare and maintain Monthly cost reports
  • Assist in estimating and measuring construction works, compiling tender documentation, and managing tender processes
  • Manage cost reporting during project execution
  • Familiarity with various construction contracts and specifications
  • Record keeping and document control
  • Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers under Senior QS and Construction Managers
  • Ensure construction allowables are met and reported
  • Other duties related to the general QS knowledge and activities
