Critical to the achievement of this is the leadership of the Senior Project Manager.

The Senior Project Manager takes accountability at an operational level for the planning and delivery of the project / scope of work assigned.


Responsible to ensure:
Effective safety leadership and behavior modelling for the project team, contractors and construction workforce.

The development of an integrated plan (for the scope of work) incorporating all stakeholders and technical functions and in line with Company standards.

Set-up of required controls to ensure delivery against these standards and the objectives as defined in the project charter.
Effective leadership of cross-functional teams in line with the Company values.
Transparent reporting of progress to stakeholders.

Consistently apply Safety & Health principles in all team interactions and take personal responsibility for safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities.


  • Act as a safety leader to reinforce a workplace culture where safety and health is paramount
  • Identify specific risks within working area and adhere to discipline-specific plans/system to avoid these risks

  • Manage multi-discipline study teams during front end loading phases
  • Participate in project assurance reviews at stage gates

Certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP).Advantageous to have a business qualification.

A minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience in the successful delivery of mining projects, preferably within the Refinery/Smelter/Process environment is essential.

Team and the candidate will be responsible to:
Coordinate all the activities associated from the concept phase through execution into closeout.
Manage all the projects within the control's principles.
Understand project scopes and dissemination thereof.
Implementation and the management of all the safety aspects of the projects.
Display effective people and contractor management.
Manage the social performance aspects of the projects which include inclusive procurement and community participation.
Ensure adherence to all the legislative and permitting requirements for each specific project.
Management and engagement with all relevant stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Ensure that all project risk management is implemented throughout the project life cycle.
Manage and implementation of all the resource requirements.
Ensure delivery of all projects within the required quality criteria.
