SCOPE OF DUTIES:

  • To be aware of and understand the various methods of coffee preparation, e.g. expresso, lattè, cappuchino and micro milk frothing, free pouring, lattè art & roasting.
  • To ensure the correct storage of products, renewable methods of disposal, recycling of coffee and packaging used.
  • To take correct orders and to serve customers promptly and courteously.
  • To ensure that coffee making equipment is properly maintained and cleaned in accordance with product specifications.
  • To ensure that coffee making equipment is operated in accordance with product specifications.
  • To maintain a clean and tidy work area at all times.
  • To clean service areas, floors, tables, chairs, etc. that fall within the work area to the satisfaction of the manager/supervisor before going off duty.
  • To ensure the availability of all products required in coffee preparation.
  • Not allowing unauthorised persons into the work area, to operate coffee making equipment or to remove stock from the work area.
  • To ensure that scheduled shifts are commenced on time and that the correct prescibed clean uniform is worn at all times.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

  • To relieve staff in the unit that may be on leave or sick.
  • To attend meetings and training courses as required.
  • To assist with weekly stock takes.
  • To serve customers as required.
  • To perform any other reasonable request by management.
  • To alternate on a monthly basis with other Cashier(s).

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Rosebank, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

  • Barista: 2 years (required)
