Job Description:

  • This role is responsible for providing occupationally directed and other learning activities that enable and enhance the knowledge, practical skills, work place experience and behavior of individuals and teams based on current and future occupational requirements for optimal organisational performance and sustainability.

KEY RESULT AREAS:

  • Responsible for adherence to all Legal and Mandatory Compliance training processes.
  • Training Standardisation implementation.
  • Implement corrective actions stemming from audit findings.
  • Manage performance of direct reports.
  • Provide input into the ATR and WSP.
  • Verify contractor Legal Compliance.
  • Responsible to maintain applicable area of the ISO 9001 QMS for underground training.
  • Responsible to maintain MQA Accreditation for underground training in area of expertise (Competency A, B and BA).
  • Responsible for the learning and development activities related to blasting tickets, shift boss and graduate development programmes.
  • Responsible for all training execution in underground mining excluding TMM.
  • Responsible to ensure Record Keeping Systems comply to DBCM Standards.
  • Responsible for Skills transition to UG in area of expertise.
  • Ensuring that statutory training requirements are met.
  • Evaluating training and development programmes.
  • Amending and revising programmes as necessary, in order to adapt to changes occurring in the work environment.
  • Responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of elearning material and techniques, underground inductions and mockup training facilities.
  • Utilise the Learning Management System (LMS) and responsible for applicable inputs required to ensure data integrity.
  • Researching new technologies and methodologies in workplace learning and finding opportunities to improve.
  • Responsible for the design, development and production of training materials, documents and manuals to ensure consistency and quality of content and delivery to meet the specific needs of training programmes.

Qualifications:

  • Qualifications Required:
  • Grade 12 / N3 or Equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification
  • Blasting ticket for underground hard rock
  • Registered assessor
  • National Driver's license code 08 EB
  • Certificate in OD ETDP L4 or studying towards a Diploma will be advantageous
  • Registered Moderator will be advantageous
  • ISO 9001/2015 Internal Auditor will be advantageous
  • A shift boss certificate will be advantageous

Role specific experience / knowledge:

  • Minimum of 3 years in depth knowledge and experience (preferable in sub level cave/block cave mining) in all underground technical areas, especially related to blasting tickets, Competent A, B, Blasting Assistant, graduate development and inductions, AND
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Trainer in underground mining environment
  • 3 years supervisory experience
  • Experience in legal compliance to Mine Health and Safety Act (training requirements).
  • Experience in certification of a Training Centre in terms of ISO 9001:2015 (QMS) and MQA accreditation.
  • Experience in Mockup, clickers systems, simulators and virtual reality will be a definite advantage.
  • Experience in content development will be a definite advantage.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Ability to communicate well to all levels of employees and management.
  • Ability to present training information to all levels of employees.
  • Execute the mining HRD component of the SLP.
  • Execute the Workplace Skills Plan process.
  • Advanced understanding of all underground mining
  • Additional Information
  • Be prepared to work shifts, do standby duties, callouts, and work overtime as per the role requirements.
  • Successfully obtain a Medical Certificate of Fitness to work underground.
  • The post is dependent on the successful completion of the Company's preemployment protocol such as qualifications' verification, relevant psychometric assessments, and a clear security clearance.
