Who are we?

Sanlam Developing Markets [SDM] (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sanlam Life Limited) is one of the top financial services providers in the South African entry-level and emerging middle market.

It aims to understand the unique requirements of clients and offers a wide range of simple and affordable financial solutions that cover needs such as funeral insurance, savings for education, life cover and personal accident plans.

In terms of the Sanlam Group Governance Policy, SDM is managed by the SA Retail Mass cluster, which is part of the Sanlam Life and Savings cluster within the Sanlam Group.

The cluster focusses on retail products, as well as group schemes. What will you do?

Banking:
Back up for FC in Banking

  • Capturing and approvals on banking systems (daily)
SAP - Financial Approver
Update and monitor all SOP's for Finance Manex and Finance Investments
Monitor and change requests of the SAP Master Data Governance (MDG)
Update all training material for SAP users
SAP training for new users

Interrogation of finance SAP system and reports to:

  • Identify misallocations and errors
  • Identify SAP reports to be used
  • Identify SAP best practises with other Sanlam Entities

Recons:

  • Assisting with preparation of recons with supporting documents and summaries.
Queries - response to queries from Finance, various Business Units, suppliers and other group companies.
Ad hoc projects for various departments and Finance.

Qualifications & experience

Matric (must have at least 6 years in a Finance role) or BCom Degree/3 year-Diploma
2 years' SAP experience at an admin level for user maintenance and approval set up

Knowledge and skills

Computer literacy - MS Office
Strong Excel skills
Strong SAP S4/HANA skills
Experience in the financial industry will be advantageous
Methodical in approach to tasks
