Introduction:

Primary Goals:

  • Maximize sales of all products through effective displays and exceptional customer service
  • Offer advice and assistance to customers as needed
  • Work closely with packaging of orchids and accurately receive orders from suppliers
  • Produce labels for products

Key Responsibilities:

  • Intimately know all flowers and products sold in the Nursery and inform management of any areas of lacking knowledge
  • Maintain a clean, wellgroomed and neatly dressed appearance at all times
  • Provide courteous and helpful service to customers
  • Offer assistance to customers in a friendly manner and provide prompt feedback to customers within requested time frames
  • Professionally accept telephone orders and queries in line with laid down procedures
  • Arrange displays and promotional material as required by management to aid in maximizing sales
  • Upsell and crosssell to customers and inform them about promotions to maximize sales
  • Assist with unpacking and labeling of stock received
  • Maintain display shelves in a clean and tidy order, ensuring stock is sufficient to meet demand and stock rotation takes place on a "first infirst out" basis
  • Perform cashier work by scanning customer's selected items and ensuring prices and quantities are correct. Accept payments accurately and issue receipts to customers
  • Maintain a clean workspace at all times
  • Communicate with all staff members and promote an enjoyable working environment
  • Operate the till and process customer transactions accurately and efficiently

Qualifications:

  • Sales or customer service experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of flowers and products is a plus
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 3 days a week
  • Experience in operating a till and processing customer transactions is required

Job Type:
Temp to perm

Contract length: 3 months

Salary:
R26.00 per hour

  • North Riding, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:

  • High School (matric) (required)

Experience:

- retail: 3 years (required)

Language:

  • Afrikaans (required)
  • English (required)
