The Sales Consultant is the catalyst behind Smithson's success as an organization.

As a consultative sales professional, the Sales Consultant is responsible for bringing in new business and contributing to the improvement of the overall sales department.


Sales Consultants start by using the excellent interpersonal skills and experience in sales to create a captivating sales pitch, through a diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging lens.

They do this by prospecting over the phone, face-to-face, through their networks, and building referral partnerships.

Sales Consultants get compensated solely for the business they bring in and build up residuals across all of their customer base.

The compensation is highly leveraged with the opportunity to create passive income while working flexible hours.


During the training/ ramp-up period, your manager will shadow you on your initial consultations to train you on our sales process using tools such as Hubspot.

You will then have the freedom to set your own schedule while working primarily from a home office and maximizing the upside of a 100% commissions and residuals on the business you bring in.

Where the role is located:
There are multiple openings for this role. This position(s) is responsible for sales growth in the Mid-West Region.


Therefore, this position can sit anywhere in the country, with the preference of the following cities: Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin.

However, we are a remote - first company.

Team Structure

This role reports directly to the Regional Sales Manager.

This role includes a team of 5-10 sales consultants reporting to the Regional Sales Manager focused on their region.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Build and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Create captivating sales pitches.
  • Sell Smithsons' services.
  • Complete all administration relating to a sale.
  • Perform research on the competitor's services.
  • Reach out to potential clients to inform them about our services.

What makes a successful Sales Consultant at Smithsons

  • 2 years commission based sales experience is preferred
  • Previous experience in recruitment and consulting. Full training is provided.
  • A hungry gogetter with a strong cando and handson attitude.
  • Technically savvy.
  • An energetic, highly motivated, and driven person who is willing to do whatever is necessary to guarantee the success of the company.
  • Ability to take initiative.
  • Flexibility and openness to change.
  • Ability to work and learn independently.
  • Ability to problem solve and work on processes that will help with overall team success.
  • Proficiency in Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Linkedin and Hubspot preferred.
