An upmarket boutique guesthouse in Bellville offering 8 luxury suites is looking for a neat and well presented receptionist to carry out all front office duties.

Applicants must be able to manage the front desk on their own, must be fully bilingual (English & Afrikaans), show a stable work history with at least 3 years experience in a similar role within an upmarket hospitality environment and be FULLY PROFICIENT WITH SEMPER.

45 hour work week with shifts as required.

_ Key Duties & Responsibilities_

  • Perform all checkin and checkout tasks
  • Manage online and phone reservations
  • Inform customers about payment methods and verify their credit card data
  • Register guests collecting necessary information (like contact details and exact dates of their stay)
  • Welcome guests upon their arrival and assign rooms
  • Provide information about our hotel, available rooms, rates and amenities
  • Respond to clients' complaints in a timely and professional manner
  • Liaise with our housekeeping staff to ensure all rooms are clean, tidy and fullyfurnished to accommodate guests' needs
  • Confirm group reservations and arrange personalized services for VIP customers and event attendees, like wedding guests
  • Upsell additional facilities and services, when appropriate, do marketing (Facebook, Instagram etc.)
  • Maintain updated records of bookings and payments
  • Oversee that breakfast / dinner is prepared every 2nd week and weekends when General Manger is not available.

Requirements and skills_**- Work experience as a Receptionist or similar role

  • Experience with hotel reservations software, Semper (nonnegotiable),
  • Customer orientated service attitude
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Professional and neat appearance.
