Responsibilities:

General Ledger Maintenance:


Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring accurate recording of receipts, payments, and journal entries to compile financial and management accounts.


Invoicing Processes:

Record the sale of goods and services through efficient invoicing processes, maintaining a systematic record of transactions.

Credit Control:

Implement effective credit control measures to ensure timely receipt of payments for goods supplied by the closed corporation.

Supplier Invoices (Creditors):

Process supplier invoices after management approval, authorizing payment, and conducting monthly reconciliations of creditors accounts.

Petty Cash Management:

Control petty cash, maintaining supporting vouchers for expenditures and ensuring a balanced petty cash system.

Bank Reconciliation:

Reconcile the bank statement each month by the 4th day of the following month, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Job Card Management:


Maintain a filing system for job cards, ensuring a sequential order to control and streamline the invoicing process for customers.


Monthly Trial Balance:
Produce a monthly trial balance of financial accounts within 21 days after the previous month-end.

Payroll Administration:

Administer the payroll system, handling salaries and wages for all employees. Proficiency in Pastel payroll software is preferred.

Qualifications:

Education:

Accounting qualifications/diplomas covering general ledger maintenance, invoicing processes, credit control, and financial reconciliation.

Experience:

Proven track record in bookkeeping, financial management, and payroll administration.

Software Skills:

Proficiency in accounting software, with a preference for experience in Pastel Payroll.

Organizational Skills:

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.

Communication Skills:

Effective written and verbal communication skills.
