PURPOSE OF JOB:


To ensure that all bedrooms, corridors, House-Assistants Storage Rooms, Public areas, Toilets, and Linen Room are serviced to the required Company standards in order to ensure complete guest satisfaction at all times.

  • RESPONSIBLE FOR: Housekeeping, Front of House Reception, Accommodation, and laundry, and bookings.

MAIN DUTIES:


  • Collect radios, keys, and daily room status report at the beginning of the AM shift.
  • Organize and supervise staff in cleaning various areas.
  • Report and follow up on maintenance faults.
  • Record lost property and store it securely.
  • Manage guest dry cleaning according to standards.
  • Ensure special requirements are met (e.g., extra beds, cots).
  • Check completed rooms to ensure they meet agreed standards.
  • Record room statuses and report any issues to Manager.
  • Report accidents, complaints, and compliments.
  • Attend daily meetings and relevant departmental meetings.
  • Report suspicious behavior, damage, missing equipment, and keys.
  • Maintain a caring attitude towards guests and staff.
  • Store and receive cleaning materials following regulations.
  • Ensure staff record working hours and take lunch breaks.
  • Maintain staff morale and a positive working atmosphere.
  • Foster good working relationships with other departments and management.
  • Complete rosters and wages forecasts in line with the hotel budget.
  • Assist in staff recruitment and training.
  • Ensure knowledge and adherence to fire procedures, hygiene, health & safety, and house rules.
  • Keep operating expenses to a minimum while maintaining high standards.
  • Manage and ensure laundry coverage as per business requirements.
  • Provide onthejob training, development, and motivation for staff.
  • Maintain training records and leave request forms.
  • Ensure housekeeping personnel sign in and out.
  • Complete calculations of hours for accounts on a weekly basis.
  • Work with the HR consultant regarding any labour relations.
  • Handle all incoming calls.
  • Manage all bookings.
  • Purchase all necessary utilities and cleaning material for cottages on a weekly basis.

OCCASIONAL DUTIES:


  • Be available to take emergency calls after hours.
  • Attend necessary training sessions.
  • Any other lawful and reasonable requests by Manager.
  • Requirement to work overtime, from time to time.

6. REQUIREMENTS

  • Own reliable transport and valid driver's license essential.
years' experience in similar role in the Hospitality Industry.

  • Ability to work flexibly when required.
  • Fully bilingual.
  • Computer literate.
  • System orientated.
  • Qualifications in Hospitality / Tourism advantageous.

Pay:
R16 000,00 - R18 000,00 per month
