Position: Bookkeeper/Payroll Administrator
Location: Hennopspark, Centurion
Office Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Job Overview

We are looking for a dynamic and driven Bookkeeper/Payroll Administrator to become part of our team. The ideal candidate will be in charge of the general bookkeeping tasks and overseeing payroll for our 80 employees. This role will be based in our office and demands expertise in Pastel Evolution and Pastel Payroll.

Key Responsibilities
  • Bookkeeping Duties:
    • Maintain precise financial records and ensure thorough documentation of all financial transactions.
    • Reconcile accounts, such as bank statements, and swiftly resolve any discrepancies.
    • Handle the preparation and processing of invoices, receipts, payments, and other financial paperwork.
    • Supervise and control accounts payable and receivable activities.
    • Support in compiling monthly financial reports and statements.
    • Guarantee adherence to financial regulations and standards.
  • Payroll Administration:
    • Accurately manage the payroll for 80 employees using Pastel Payroll.
    • Maintain records of employee payroll details, including timesheets, leave balances, and deductions.
    • Address payroll inquiries and discrepancies, ensuring swift resolution.
    • Ensure compliance with all payroll-related regulations and legislation.
    • Prepare and lodge payroll-related statutory returns like PAYE, UIF, and SDL.
    • Distribute payslips to employees efficiently.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Demonstrated experience as a Bookkeeper and Payroll Administrator with over 5 years in the field.
  • Proficiency in Pastel Evolution and Pastel Payroll.
  • Thorough comprehension of accounting principles and payroll regulations.
  • Exceptional focus on detail and precision in managing financial data.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exemplary integrity and commitment to confidentiality.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years in bookkeeping and payroll administration.
  • Relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is advantageous, but experience carries more weight.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Capacity to perform effectively under pressure and meet set deadlines.
