Mission:

  • This is a 6-month contract where the mission will be to support the current Draughts person to create technical drawings and plans. This is a supportive role and plays a pivotal role in translating design concepts and specifications into drawings, diagrams and schematics.

Main Responsibilities or Functions of Job:

Design:

  • Finalize detailed technical drawings, plans, and diagrams based on specifications provided by engineers or designers.
  • Assist with designs for enclosures for various manufacturing methods.
  • Support the development of designs suitable for vacuum forming processes, ensuring proper mould design and material selection.
  • Adhere to industry standards, regulations, and project requirements to produce highquality drawings.
  • Generate multiple views, crosssections, and detailed drawings to provide comprehensive documentation of the design.
  • Assist in creating precise assembly drawings for manufacturing.
  • Review drawings for errors, inconsistencies, or conflicts and make revisions as necessary.
  • Utilize computeraided design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc. to create, modify, and finalize drawings.

Collaborate with Design Teams:

  • Work closely with engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to understand project objectives, requirements, and constraints. Collaborate effectively to incorporate design changes and address feedback throughout the drafting process.
  • Manage drafting tasks efficiently to meet project deadlines and milestones. Prioritize workload and communicate any potential delays or obstacles to project managers or supervisors.
  • Organize and maintain drawing files, records, and documentation in accordance with project standards and protocols. Ensure that drawings are properly archived and accessible for future reference or revisions.

Learning and Growth:

  • Keep abreast of advancements in CAD technology, drafting techniques, and industry best practices. Continuously improve skills and knowledge through professional development opportunities and training programs.
  • Participate in activities as described in Personal Development Plan, as agreed with the Engineering Manager.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and skills development processes (best practice, lessons learnt, etc.).

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree, associate degree, or vocational training in drafting, engineering technology, Industrial Design or a related field.
  • Relevant coursework in CAD drafting, technical drawing, and engineering principles is advantageous.
  • Beginner experience required in 3D modelling techniques and rendering software to create realistic visualizations and presentations of designs
