Purpose of Position

  • Plan, produce and create of a video content to be used across all our digital channels, increasing engagement with our audiences and stakeholders.
  • To be responsible for planning, filming, and editing videos that could be used for a variety of projects to highlight the work of Islamic Relief South Africa.
  • To establish the look and feel for various elements, including websites, social media and print
  • Work within brand guidelines to create layouts that reinforce our brand's style and voice through its visual touchpoints
  • Work on marketing items, presentation materials and interactive event materials while effectively managing timelines and expectations.

Key Responsibilities

The specific details of a digital intern's role will include:

  • Producing motion graphics and 3D video content.
  • Assists where applicable, producing motion graphics and 3D content from concept to delivery,
  • Communicates with internal and external team regarding the production and delivery of content.
  • Encoding, converting and editing videos and graphical sequences.
  • Produces video content from either scratch or following a design.
  • Keeps abreast of new technologies and techniques to deliver cutting edge work.
  • Maintains brand identity guidelines and ensures adherence throughout the organization.
  • Designs and produces motion graphics.
  • Edits video and color correct and add motion graphics to videos when needed.
  • Provides guidance and recommendations for design, imagery and graphics.
  • Travels to get media and content for marketing use; photography and video, etc.
  • To cover different national events, capture case studies and produce interactive social videos.
  • Maintains electronic archives of marketing and communications materials.
  • Combines strong ability in graphic design with a solid understanding of consumer products, processes, technology and/or procedures.
  • Ability to use cameras, microphones lighting systems to take good pictures, and record
videos of various activities.

  • Ability to produce video content using Adobe Premier and Adobe After Effects.
  • Ability to produce various design material using Photoshop, Illustrators, and InDesign.

Routine content creation includes the following:

  • Coordinate with the different departments to raise awareness about Islamic Relief South Africa's work done locally and internationally.
  • Arrange weekly media plans to produce engaging stories about Islamic Relief Local work in different regions in SA and neighbouring countries.
  • Work closely with the web development team to enhance Islamic Relief's website content.
  • Manage Islamic Relief South Africa's YouTube channel and produce relevant stories to enhance the brand and marketing aspect of the organisation.
  • Cover all Islamic Relief Local events and projects, produce engaging stories and share on the relevant platforms including, website, social media and IR Digital.

Educational Qualification:

  • Recognized Degree at a reputable institution in Digital Content Creation.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in similar position with demonstrated experience within a fastpaced marketing and creative design environment.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite packages, including InDesign, Photoshop, Aftereffects, Premier Pro, Illustrator, Flash and CSS.
  • The ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
