Sesame Workshop South Africa has an opportunity for a
Digital Marketing Manager to join our growing team which is driving the exciting new vision for
_Takalani Sesame_.

With a passion for children's educational media, you will manage the creation and distribution of fresh and exciting digital content that engages _Takalani Sesame_'s audience (children, parents and caregivers), expanding our reach and deepening our impact across South Africa.

Your primary role will be to grow Takalani Sesame's presence in the digital media landscape, primarily through organic efforts, with a particular focus on social media platforms.

The role is accountable for growing and driving audience engagement across all relevant digital platforms.

You'll be responsible for driving digital media performance and efficiencies and creating and executing data driven audience development strategies aligned to brand and business objectives.

In addition to driving organic growth, you will oversee paid media strategies and platforms, as well as strong audience targeting and re-targeting capabilities.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing, managing, and executing campaigns through all available social media marketing platforms with particular emphasis on campaign optimization through directing creative execution, campaign set up (understanding customer journeys, segmentation, targeting, bidding etc) and campaign analysis as well as day to day management of campaigns
  • Digital content management including both internal production and agency workflows
  • Creative Agency management
  • Youtube channel management with agency
  • Manage the daytoday content calendar
  • Take full endtoend responsibility for paid media channels with a clear focus on increasing audience growth
  • Formulating campaign strategy, researching potential marketing channels, analysing competitors, and testing
  • Building campaigns, performance analysis, identifying strategic opportunities, facilitating change to meet and exceed expectations, and KPIs
  • Oversee and advise on SEO and paid media strategy to improve traffic generation leading to improved awareness and understanding metrics and website lead generation
  • Support the marketing lead and broader team with research, insight and support around datasets that lead to effective crosschannel media strategies and tactics
  • Deliver insight reports on campaign performance
  • Support the management of budgets
  • Build effective and logical digital media plans based on business objectives
  • Drive breakthrough digital marketing innovation

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or National Diploma in Marketing, Communications, Media Studies, Television/Radio/Film, Journalism, Animation or related field
  • 5+ years' experience leading social media and brand awareness strategies
  • Proficiency in digital marketing and analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Facebook Business Manager
  • Strong digital /social agency acumen with background leading and partnering with agency teams, motivating and enabling them to build campaigns
  • Capable of working in a complex matrix organisation and able to build strong relationships and credibility with multiple levels both internally and externally
  • Proficiency in MS Office and content management software
  • Understanding of web and social media publishing requirements
  • Hands on experience with SEO and web traffic metrics
  • Project management skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written)
  • Stakeholder management skills
