Our reputable Accounting and Tax client that is based in Cape Town is seeking a skilled
Senior Tax Consultant to join their team.


Purpose of the job:

To provide a wide range of tax advisory services to a large portfolio of clients (+/- 350), which typically includes, amongst others, freelancers and high net-worth clients.


Salary:
R R35 000 per Month

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5years tax experience of which at least 2 years should be in a senior capacity
  • Understanding of the Income Tax, Vat and Tax Administration Acts
  • Solid knowledge of the tax system and experience in dealing with SARS on a practical level
  • Must be capable of working with no supervision
  • Tax qualification or completed SAIPA/SAICA articles would be advantageous
  • Preferably a registered tax practitioner

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation as well as review of tax calculations and Income Tax returns
  • Mostly for individuals, but for Trusts and Corporates too at times
  • Preparation of estimate calculations and submission of provisional tax returns
  • Sending of requests to clients for information necessary for the completion of various tax returns
  • Checking of Assessments and ensuring the outcome is communicated with the clients
  • Attend timorously to return submissions, SARS request for verification information, objections, appeals and alternative disputes
  • Keeping clients informed and updated on their tax status
  • Producing high level tax opinions
  • Billing client work and managing your WIP (work in progress)
  • Budget management in respect of client engagement
  • Attending SARS Appointments where required
  • Dealing with client queries and requests
  • Keep daily timesheets and work towards monthly target
  • The role also includes liaising with internal staff, clients, and partners and any other task necessary for the conduct of the Employer's business, as the Employer may from time to time direct

Skills or Competencies:

  • Highly deadline driven;
  • Ability to work under pressure and unsupervised;
  • Understanding that overtime may be required at achieve SARS major deadlines;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • High Attention to detail
  • High level of both verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player;
  • Strong organisation and planning skills

Salary:
R30, R35,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Cape Town,

Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

- tax: 5 years (required)
