Set up and manufacture items based on information detailed in engineering drawings in accordance with set times.

  • Machine of parts and assembling of machines.
  • Measure and inspect own work to ensure that it meets the specifications detailed on the drawings.
  • Accountable for housekeeping in area around machine.
  • Accountable for own safety, safety of machine and the work environment.
  • Do basic maintenance on machine.
  • Accountable for handing over machine in 100% safe condition.
  • In the event of work exceeding planned times, discuss and resolve with Team Leader.
  • Perform safety inspections on machine(s).
  • Suggest and make improvements on quality, efficiency and safety aspects of the job.
  • Assist in the training of new incumbents/multiskilling in the workshop.
  • Accountable for contributing to building a high performance, high morale engineering team.
  • Assist management with daily workshop related tasks.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • N3 Qualification
  • Must be a qualified arstian with minimum 3 to 5 years Machine Shop experience Post Trade Tested.
  • Capable of performing faultfinding diagnostics on all equipment across all engineering disciplines.
  • Knowledge of the OHS Act and Explosives Act
  • Indepth knowledge of engineering related principles and standards.
  • Knowledge of maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
