Key accountabilities

Accountability:
Business Partnering

  • Identify opportunities to proactively automate reports and to eliminate duplicate and manual report production
  • Participate in the project teams to ensure the MI components are continuously addressed
  • Manage expectations and contract deliverables
  • Build and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders (Project Managers, Line Managers, Colleagues, Report Users, SBU
  • MI, Commercial Managers)
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of various systems and related reporting

Accountability:
Report Production

  • Source information from different data warehouses and data marts, manual and online systems
  • Contract with data warehouse providers that the information is in the required format and frequency
  • Develop report formats and standards based on user requirements
  • Collate package data into usable and userfriendly management information
  • Analyse derived information to create value added understanding and knowledge of business in relation to performance trends by providing analyses against internal benchmarks and testing it against predetermined external benchmarks
  • Prepare customised reports based on user requirements and includes executive summaries and highlight risks and issues identified
  • Identify opportunities to automate /improve quality of reports and to eliminate duplicate and manual report production
  • Ensure internal/regulatory deadline are respected at all times and to share any roadblocks to the Head of MI team
  • Continuously looking into ways to improve data integrity

Accountability:
Governance & Control

  • Conduct integrity checks on all extracted data to ensure correct data is incorporated into the reports
  • Escalate issues identified to the data governance organisation (DGO) and Group Information Systems (GIS), work with them to improve data quality and definitions
  • Escalate long outstanding data integrity issues to the Head of MI to take up at management levels
  • Document and regularly update detail procedures for the extracting of data and preparation and submission of the reports
  • Perform data backups according to the schedules and the frequency set by the business area
  • Conduct UAT (User Acceptance Testing) on all new or changed systems identified issues and escalate to the Developers and ensure issues are addressed prior to the go live date

Accountability:
Data Management

  • Convert data extracts from various sources into relevant information with relevant reporting tools (Power BI ) that enable reporting as required. This includes compiling management information (MI) and any other adhoc queries while adhering to agreed deadlines
  • Continuously demonstrate the drive towards automation and digitisation in line with the overall bank strategy
  • Adhere to the core data governance disciplines as defined by the business unit when performing business intelligence activities. This includes data quality management, information lifecycle management and information security and privacy

Accountability:
Capacity Management

  • Develop capacity plans in consultation with the Head of Data and MI
  • Assist the head of MI in delivering training and coaching as part of delivering on capacity planning
Education

Bachelor's Degrees and Advanced Diplomas:
Computer and Information Science (required)
