Our client is looking for a Toolmaker Trainee to join their company in the Automotive Industry.

Educational & Training Requirements:

  • Grade 12 with Maths
  • Computer literacy essential – MS Office
  • Technical background in the Automotive industry
  •  Valid drivers’ licence or willingness to acquire one within a reasonable period of time

Experience Required:

  • Tool making background will be advantageous
  • 2 – 3 years welding experience + Certificate

Job Requirements & Responsibilities upon qualification:

  • Grinding and polishing of tooling
  • Weld own jobs and work in
  • Weld and fabricate frames, etc.
  • General Machining in various disciplines
  • Assembly of tooling
  • Die, Core box and Pattern maintenance
  • Compliance with SHE procedures
  • Compliance with QI (FORD), TS 16949, QS9000
  • Fill in job card correctly and daily at end of shift
  • Minimizes non-productive time
  • Any other duties and responsibility that may from time to time be assigned
