This position works out of our Johannesburg location in the Abbott Transfusion Division. In this division we’re empowering smarter medical and economicdecision makingto help transform the way people manage their health at all stages of life. Every day, more than 10 million tests are run on Abbott’s diagnostics instruments, providing lab results for millions of people.
Ourdiagnosticsolutions are used in hospitals, laboratories and clinics around the globe. The crucial information derived from our tests, instruments andinformaticssystems are often the first step in patient caredecision makingfor hundreds of health conditions fromheartattacks to blood disorders to infectious diseases and cancers.
The role of service engineer internwill provide technical in-depthtroubleshooting, expertise &service supporttoTechnical SupportSpecialists, FSEs &Service SupportContractors/Distributors for problems associated with analyzer, operator, application and reagent complaints.
What You’ll Do
Performsystem installation, repairs and servicing at customer sites.
Implements major product upgrades relative to the assigned system/product group.
Collaborates with Sales department to assist with basictroubleshootingtraining of Customers.
Provideservice supportandtechnical troubleshootingfor defined service interventions.
Provideproactiveservice.
Required Qualifications
University degree (National Diploma), ideally in one of the following fields:Electrical Engineering,Clinical Engineering,Mechatronics,Medical Technology,biomedicalor related. (THIS MUST BE COMPLETED).
VALID DRIVERS LICENCE is essential as you will be required to travel.
Preferred Qualifications
No Work experience (however previous in-service training will be accepted)
Must live in Johannesburg and can travel to office.
Available to start immediately.
