RPO Recruitment, a leading recruitment agency in the mining industry, is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Mine Overseer to join our client's team. As a Mine Overseer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating mining operations, ensuring the safety of personnel and optimizing production. Our client is invested in promoting a culture of safety, innovation, and teamwork.


Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage daily underground operations to ensure compliance with safety regulations and maximize productivity.
  • Coordinate and schedule mining activities, including drilling, blasting, and loading of ore.
  • Supervise a team of miners and contractors, providing guidance and support to ensure effective task execution.
  • Monitor production targets and implement initiatives to optimize mining operations and reduce costs.
  • Review and interpret geological and survey data to make informed decisions related to mine design and development.
  • Prepare and submit reports on mining activities, including production volumes, safety performance, and equipment maintenance.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering and maintenance, to ensure seamless coordination and effective utilization of resources.

Requirements

  • Mine Overseer’s Certificate
  • Valid First Aid Certificate.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a trackless mining environment.
  • Experience in narrow tabular ore bodies will be an advantage.
  • At least 3 year’s Platinum experience.
  • Sound knowledge of the Mine, Health & Safety Act as well as the Minerals Act.
  • Sound knowledge of Industrial Relations and the relevant Acts.
  • Insight into the Mining Charter.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Grade 12
  • Post Matric Qualifications in Mining
