What you will enjoy doing

  • As a welder, you perform welding procedures to the relevant codes to which BESmanufactures, including welding seams on vessels, road tankers, vaporizers and equipment using all types ofwelding processes for different materials
  • Perform welds for x-ray, grind and fix and repair x-ray defects, circumferential and longitudinal welds using Argon TIGwelding when required, welding of circuit piping to welding procedures and codes
  • Preheat of different material to specified temperatures usingcorrect temperature grade temple sticks and purging of pipes and vessels using Argon or Nitrogen depending onthe application
  • You are responsible for using correct welding consumables for specificmaterials and perform all position welding such vertical, horizontal, overhead and flat
  • Inspect and weld joints such as Butt-weld, flat weld using either string or weave method and identify gaps for misalignment prior to welding, liaise with Quality Control department regarding all welding codesand procedures
  • Operating of 5 – 30 ton overhead cranes (licensed) and assistingthe works with general lifting operations and adhere to SHEQ, Compliance, policies, procedures and housekeeping

What makes you great

  • You possess a matric certificate, a N3with a formal apprenticeship or combination of technical school and employerprovided training
  • You have qualified as a welder and possess a RedSeal Trade Test certificate
  • Previousexperience in welding of pressure vessels (preferably Cryogenic pressurevessels) or related experience
  • Previous exposure to MMA, MIG, TIG and SAW welding and understanding the different welding codes and symbols
  • You have the ability to read drawings
