Responsibilities:- Engineering Leadership: Lead and provide direction to the engineering team, ensuring best practices, safety standards, and compliance with regulations.
- Refrigeration Systems Management: Oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of refrigeration systems, with a strong emphasis on ammonia plant experience.
- Project Management: Manage engineering projects from start to finish, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Process Optimization: Identify and implement opportunities for efficiency gains and cost reductions in operations.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality assurance to ensure all engineering processes meet food safety and quality standards.
- Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for critical equipment and systems.
- Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Address equipment failures and maintenance issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Compliance and Regulatory Affairs: Stay updated on industry regulations and ensure full compliance within the plant.
- Risk Management: Assess risks related to engineering activities and develop strategies to maintain a safe work environment.
- Training and Development: Mentor engineering staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Expertise in refrigeration principles, HVAC systems, and cold storage technologies.
- Strong project management skills with a proven track record in completing projects on time and within budget.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations such as HACCP and OSHA.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering within the poultry processing industry, particularly with refrigeration systems.
- Certification as a Professional Engineer (PE) is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
