Job Purpose:

As a Warehouse Supervisor, you'll play a pivotal role in coordinating your team's efforts to meet and exceed defined goals and objectives. Reporting to your superior, you'll champion effective communication, leadership, motivation, training, and development. Your primary focus will be ensuring objectives and standards are maintained, all while achieving contractual KPI targets set within our Service Level Agreement. By supporting and enforcing our business SHEQ and legal objectives, you'll contribute to the safety, quality, and integrity of our operations.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Operational Excellence: You'll be the driving force behind meeting and exceeding operational service levels while effectively managing labor costs. This involves achieving contractual KPIs, ensuring efficient labor utilization within budget, and aligning daily volume and resource plans to maximize results.

2. Team Culture: Fostering a dynamic team culture is essential. Encourage and reward constructive internal competitiveness, ensuring that it benefits our valued clients.

3. Compliance: Uphold stringent compliance with statutory and company policies and procedures, which includes Health and Safety, Employment Equity, Labor Relations, and Environmental issues. A high level of compliance is crucial.

4. Human Resources: Your commitment to the well-being of our team will shine through in appropriate staffing levels, high competence in staff, effective disciplinary actions, leave trend management, and timekeeping schedule supervision. You'll lead in training and developing staff, setting and monitoring performance standards.

5. Safety and Environment: Prioritize housekeeping for a safe, secure, clean, and fair work environment. You'll take responsibility for matters related to Health and Safety and the environment.

6. Incident Reporting: Swiftly record and report all damaged cases, parts, and components following the 'Reporting and Processing of Incidents' procedure.

7. Problem Resolution: Should any problems or queries remain unresolved, they will be escalated to your superior for swift resolution.

8. Continuous Improvement: As a team, we're dedicated to delivering on our Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Maintaining stock control procedures, reconciling theoretical and physical stock daily, and ensuring we fulfill customer needs through effective operations are core tasks.

9. Training and Competence: You'll conduct training and competence assessments for new team members while maintaining comprehensive records of progress.

10. Integrity and Quality: Above all, you'll ensure that product safety, quality, and integrity are never compromised. All non-conformances and queries are channeled correctly for resolution.

Qualifications, Experience & Attributes:

  • Matric (English and Math)
  • Two years of previous working experience
  • MS Office skills
  • Familiarity with SAP
  • Forklift or Towmotor driver's license where applicable
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures
  • Capacity to perform under pressure
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Knowledge of distribution and logistics
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication
