An exciting opportunity has become available at one of my clients who are looking for a Senior level, highly skilled, driven, motivated and experienced Plant Operations Manager; who must have an excellent track record showcasing this.

You will join a well established FMCG Manufacturing company, based in Gauteng - City Deep, from Monday-Friday.

  • You will be responsible for executing the strategy and supporting plans of the business. You will ensure that all operations are executed in an effective, efficient and cost-effective way.
  • Focus is in improving operational management systems, processes, and best practices as well as oversee the purchase of materials, plan inventory and oversee warehouse efficiency.
  • You will also manage operational budgets and forecasts and ensure quality control standards are met whilst monitoring production KPIs.


Requirements

Role              : FMCG Manufacturing Plant Operations Manager

CTC               : R1.3m ~ R1.7m per annum

Start Date     : ASAP

Location       : Gauteng - City Deep        

 

People priorities: Development, design and leadership of the management team, emphasising accountability and people effectiveness.

An opportunity to foster best practices, create a successful work culture, and build team morale and prosperity.

 

Procurement and Supply Chain: Management of inventory levels and ensure best practices on ordering and management of stock. Lead and co-ordinate Procurement team to drive efficiency, cost savings and compliance.

 

Technical and Compliance: Ensure legislative and regulatory compliance, including but not limited to food

safety, health & safety, quality control, environmental, and asset management. Develop technical, analytical, monitoring, and reporting frameworks with related systems and databases.

 

Financial Management: Manage all manufacturing costs to enable the lowest cost production and optimal asset utilization. Conduct maintenance reviews, capex reviews, and cost of labor analysis. Manage budgets and cost planning.

  • Waste Management

Min Requirements:
  • Degree/Diploma in Operations Management, Engineering or similar qualification.
    10+ years’ experience in the FMCG industry.
  • 8 years’ experience in an Operations/Production Management role.
  • Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE’s), waste reduction etc. is crucial.
  • Supplementary advanced training in Food Safety Systems that would be advantageous.
  • You must have working knowledge and experience of technical processes, procedures, and requirements within food production/processing.
  • Experience within the FMCG Industry advantagous
     

Responsibilities:

  • To this end you will plan structures, implement best practice scheduling, and optimize plant available hours.
  • Lead manufacturing, supply chain, and procurement teams towards achieving strategic targets.
  • You need to have experience developing, designing and implementing programs to build efficiencies, create capacities, and reduce costs and wastage.
  • Monitor, improve, and report on key performance metrics, asset health, people planning and development, operational opportunities, and efficiencies.
  • Asset care and maintenance of all plant and equipment.
