Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric (a diploma in Purchasing Supply Chain or Logistics will be an advantage).
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in the FMCG supply chain and with a buying background
  • Fast mover and energetic personality
  • Strong buying skills in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector
  • Exceptional negotiation abilities
  • Outstanding people and communication skills
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a buyer in FMCG
  • Demonstrably committed, hardworking, and driven

Responsibilities:

  • Inventory purchasing, management, and control.
  • Effective purchasing occurs through mandated budgets.
  • Monitor the rate of sale per item and take corrective action where applicable.
  • Ensure timely processing of claims and other admin tasks.
  • Ensure positive working relationships with suppliers and internal staff.
  • Keeping abreast of competitors and the new products on the market.
  • Developing an effective and accurate system or process for monitoring purchase orders
  • Delivering a weekly purchase order report to supervisors that indicates the invoice number for all closed orders.
  • Working within the management team to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned orders and report any backordered or missing products.
  • Assisting the Supply Chain Manager with maintaining inventory levels and materials on a regular basis
  • Effectively communicating with the management team to ensure all orders are accurate.
  • Selecting and ordering products based on contractual agreements with suppliers or manufacturers
  • Working with supply chain managers and inventory management to maintain proper inventory levels and report any issues (reporting any issues with suppliers, logistics, or products to the supervisor.).
