Description of the role 

Investec Sandton is looking for a developer who will be responsible for the full application life cycle which will include development, design, implementation, and support. The candidate will be responsible for leading and driving the development, maintenance, and support of applications in order to identify and meet the present and future technological needs of the business.

Other responsibilities will include instilling a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and quality in the team and alignment to DevOps principles and practices. Oversee the architectural roadmap and application lifecycle management for the set of applications in your portfolio. Ensure that the architectural roadmap aligns with the broader Investec technical strategies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for operational and procedural functions and all surrounding interfaces. The role will involve project and business as usual development, the resolution of user issues and requests as well as maintenance of systems and related interfaces where required.

Description of the skill and experience required 

• 3+ years' experience in object-oriented programming (C# or .NET)
• Test Driven Development
• CI/CD
• Automated testing
• Angular
• Azure Experience
• Microsoft SQL Server
• SharePoint Experience (advantageous)
• Excellent problem-solving / analytical skills and complex troubleshooting methods
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment and prioritise the most critical tasks and initiatives
• A self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit
• A natural communicator who can engage with both engineers and business stakeholders
• Technical leadership experience (advantageous)
