Hire Resolve's client, a reputable mining company in the Northern Cape, is in need of an experienced Operator Shovel to join their team. As an Operator Shovel, you will play a key role in the mining operations, operating and maintaining the shovel equipment to efficiently extract and load materials.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate and control shovel equipment to extract, load, and move materials
  • Ensure optimal production by following mine plans and schedules
  • Perform pre-start checks and routine equipment maintenance
  • Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to all health and safety regulations
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve production targets

Requirements

  • Matric Certificate
  • Competent A Certificate in Surface Mining
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as an Operator Shovel in the mining industry with experience on 994 FEL or similar sized hydraulic shovel
  • 7+ years operational Surface Mining experience
  • Valid operator's license for shovel equipment
  • Experience with various types of shovel equipment, such as hydraulic shovels or electric rope shovels
  • Knowledge of mining operations and production processes
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
  • Willingness to work in remote locations and on a shift basis
